Footballers head for Portlaoise
November 14, 2008
Kieran McGeeney's Kildare side will begin their 2009 Leinster senior football championship campaign against Offaly at Portlaoise on May 25th, it has been revealed.
The draw for the Leinster championship was made weeks ago, but the venues and dates were only confirmed earlier this week as managers not get down to the serious business of planning for the campaign.
Kildare are more use to playing their championship games in Croke Park, but they will head for the Laois capital as part of a double header as Wicklow and Longford meet at the venue as well.
The winners of the Kildare v. Offaly game will face Wexford at Dr Cullen Park on June 14th.
