Kerry players unlikely to attend AFL trial

August 21, 2008
Kerry county board chairman Jerome Conway has said that the two Kingdom stars supposed to be attending the upcoming AFL trial in Mayo have not been contacted about the event. When a list including the names of high profile players supposed to be attending the two day trial at the Breaffy House Hotel in Mayo organised by Ricky Nixon was published, the names of Tommy Walsh and David Moran were included. However, Conway says this is not the case as both players, from the inquiries he has made, have not even been contacted about the trails which take place next week. There has been some disquiet in the Kingdom over the trial and their interference in the senior team's preparations for the All-Irelands semi-final with Cork on Sunday. When asked about the two players attending the AFL trial, Conway responded: "From the information I have, there is no truth in the story whatsoever. "I believe that the two players in question, Tommy Walsh and David Moran, weren't even contacted and I don't know where this story has come from."
