The late Albert O'Sullivan The GAA community in Kerry was shocked to learn of the tragic death of one of the county's best-known referees, Albert O'Sullivan from Strand Street, Tralee. Mr O'Sullivan died as a result of an accidental fall at his home at 11 Strand Street. He was aged 49 years and was single. A staunch member of the Kerins O'Rahilly's Club in Tralee, Mr O'Sullivan played for his club up until 1974. Since the seventies, he refereed numerous league and championship club matches around the county. A close club colleague and friend spoke of his shock and sadness at the news of Albert O'Sullivan's sudden death this week. He described the late Mr O'Sullivan as a genuine man who kept to himself."He loved the craic and he loved everything to do with Strand Road," he said. Mr O'Sullivan is survived by his father, Dan brothers; Denis, Michael, Dersie, Patrick, Donie, Noel and sisters, Eileen and Betty. Courtesy of The Kerryman October 2002
