Three-in-a-row isn't driving us, insists Keane

Kerry minor football boss Peter Keane says his players will be attempting to make their "own history" in next month's All-Ireland final against Galway.

The Kingdom are hot favourites to complete a three-in-a-row of Tom Markham Cups on September 18 after destroying Leinster champions Kildare yesterday, but such a feat - which hasn't been achieved by the Kingdom since the 1930s - won't be foremost on their minds, Keane insists.

"It won't be in their heads because these fellas aren't looking for three-in-a-row, they're looking to win one All-Ireland. That's the nature of minor football," he is quoted as saying in the Irish Examiner.

"This team is looking to make its own history and hopefully that will happen in Croke Park in three weeks' time. What went on two years ago or last year is irrelevant to those fellas.

"They're good players and they brought their 'A' game today, but you've got to be conscious at the end of the day that we've nothing won. It's a semi-final and these are only to get you into the final so we've got to focus hard from here on in now."
