Bryan Sheehan will play for an eleventh consecutive weekend this Saturday and the Kerry ace wouldn't have it any other way!

Sheehan has had an unprecedented run of matches with the St Mary's side that won the Kerry IFC and the South Kerry combination that finally claimed the county SFC.

On Sunday, he starred on the divisional team that defeated Legion after extra time in a replayed Kerry SFC final; this weekend he will tog out of St Mary's against Carrigaline of Cork in a Munster Club IFC semi-final.

"The GAA could look at playing games every two weeks because there is massive enjoyment in it rather than giving lads six weeks to prepare for a game. The football still brings you on and you get fit from it," he enthuses in The Irish Examiner.

"This racket of having twelve sessions for every game you play? That's madness. I'm enjoying my football. You're injury-free, and you're winning, and they are the big things.

"When you're playing serious football you have to really tune yourself in. If it was county league games or less relevant games you might throw your hat at it but it's easy to get yourself up for these big ones.

"If you can't, there's something wrong with you. When you're winning, it's a lot easier to keep going and get yourself up for the following weekend. Winning is a habit and it brings momentum. What you're doing in training on a Wednesday night is just ticking over."
