Kerry manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice has hailed the impact of Barry John Keane this year.

Keane has featured in every game this year and although he has come on more than he has started, the talented forward has made a big impact, none more so than last weekend's cameo role against Tyrone.

Fitzmaurice lauded Keane with praise and admitted that he was the 'unluckiest' player in the squad given the wealth of talent that they had in the forwards.

He's incredible," Fitzmaurice told the Kerryman. "He has to be the unluckiest man in the squad, because of the players that he is competing with. His form line going back to last June in Portugal has been incredible and his attitude has been even better, because another fella in his position could easily throw his toys out of the cot, but he's been the ultimate pro.

"Even last Sunday, he only got five or six minutes at the end, got involved a couple of times, kicked a great point, so I couldn't say enough about how good he has been, how well he's playing in training and he'll be really trying to drive it on to get that start that he deserves really for four weeks time."
