Kerry-Tyrone is always a spicy affair, says Moran

David Moran admits the Kerry-Tyrone rivalry is unique.

The Red Hands proved a thorn in Kerry's side during the Noughties when they defeated them in the 2005 and '08 All-Ireland finals as well as in the infamous 2003 All-Ireland semi-final, but the Kingdom did gain a measure of revenge when they ran out 1-16 to 1-6 winners in their 2012 All-Ireland qualifier meeting in Killarney.

"We're facing Tyrone and while it's like any other game in that you want to win it and get to an All-Ireland final, meeting Tyrone again does add a little bit of spice to things," the Kerry midfielder told RTE.

"There is a bit of a buzz around the place. Kerry supporters won't forget the great battles we've had with Tyrone and they'd be happy with a one-point victory on Sunday."

The Kerins O'Rahilly's clubman feels Tyrone have been unfairly labelled a defensive team.

"Tyrone set themselves up in a particular way, but I think anybody who has watched them this year will know that they have a lot of good footballers. I don't think they are getting the credit they deserve and it's important not to think that they are just a system. We will have to improve from the last day [against Kildare] if we're going to beat them."

He added: "We need to tighten up in defence and our accuracy in passing could be better. Since we've known it's Tyrone we're facing, different things have been worked on in training and fellas tried out in different positions."
