Kerry supporters will more than likely have to wait until the championship to see Colm Cooper back in action.

Manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice has admitted that 'Gooch' - who was expected to return this month - has suffered a slight setback in his recovery from cruciate ligament surgery.

"In an ideal world, we'd like to see Colm back before the end of the league, but we just have to wait until he's ready and he's not ready at the moment," Fitzmaurice told the Irish Independent.

"The idea of holding him back on his return is that he will be perfect. He will be back, that's for certain."
