There may have been no love lost between Dublin and Kerry on the pitch yesterday, but it was a different story off it as a Dublin fan took the opportunity to propose to his girlfriend.

Andy Smith surprised Colette Greenhalgh at half-time when he got down on one knee and asked would she marry him in front of the crowd at Fitzgerald Stadium. Andy had planned the proposal with the help of Dublin GAA and was delighted when Colette said 'yes'.

"I hadn't a clue what was happening," pharmacy worker Colette told the Irish Daily Star.

"Then the steward said 'can you come onto the pitch please?' I asked what was happening and when I turned around Andy was on his knee.

"He asked if I would marry him and, of course, I said 'yes'. Everyone in the stands was cheering."
