Austin Stacks 1-13
Mid Kerry 2-10

The Bishop Moynihan Cup went unclaimed as Austin Stacks and Mid Kerry fought out a thrilling draw in Austin Stack Park, Tralee.

The sides will have to meet again next Sunday after Gavan O'Grady (Mid Kerry) and Shane Carroll (Stacks) both missed late chances to win the final. O'Grady, who top-scored with 1-6 (0-4), uncharacteristically missed a 13-metre free in the final minute of normal time before Carroll also failed to find the target from a '45'.

In a high-quality decider, the divisional outfit drew first blood when O'Grady netted in the sixth minute to give them a 1-1 to 0-1 lead. However, Stacks roared back to take a 0-8 to 1-3 lead with a series of well-taken points, including two from Daniel Bohan, before All Star Kieran Donaghy scored a trademark goal after fielding Shane Carroll's long delivery and blasting past Mid Kerry 'keeper Michael Moriarty.

That gave the Tralee side a five-point lead, but Mid Kerry replied with scores from Darran O'Sullivan and O'Grady to trail by three, 1-5 to 1-8, at the interval.

Pa McCarthy and O'Grady traded points before Kerry star Donnchadh Walsh levelled the scoring when his attempt for a point looped over Darragh O'Brien and into the Stacks net.

O'Grady then gave Mid Kerry the lead from a free, 2-8 to 1-10, with 15 minutes to go, only for Stacks to hit back with efforts from Mikey Collins, Shane Callaghan and Donaghy.

O'Grady slotted two more frees to tie it up again, and that's how it stayed.
