Kerry great Seamus Moynihan says the 'spy' incident has justified Eamonn Fitzmaurice's decision to introduce a behind-closed-doors training policy.

An individual was spotted observing the Kingdom's All-Ireland final preparations at Fitzgerald Stadium on Tuesday evening from a nearby tree and Moynihan told the Examiner: "This incident with the tree is an example of the interest others have on what Kerry are doing in training.

"It can't be right and it was never right that everyone can see what you are doing. I remember 10 years ago, we looked to have our sessions closed to the public but we were refused.

"It was crazy that say, myself and Paul Galvin would have a dust up in training and within 10 minutes, it would be down town being discussed in Jimmy O'Brien's (pub).

"If you were playing badly in training, everybody knew. It is so unprofessional, so wrong."

Another former Kingdom star Sean O'Sullivan said: "Expect that tree to be chopped down next year."
