Colm Cooper is mourning the death of his mother Maureen.

As the youngest of seven children, the Kerry star - who is currently recovering from cruciate ligament surgery - was extremely close to his mother, who was always a great support to him in his GAA career. Colm's father Mike passed away in April 2006 at the age of 61.

Colm's older brothers Danny, Mike, Vince and Mark all wore the Dr Crokes colours before him, while the two girls in the family, Geraldine and Karen, are avid Crokes and Kerry supporters.
