'We've lost that spark of genius'

Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Liam Ó Néill, with members of RnaG sports team Gearóidín Nic an Iomaire, Séamus Mac Géidigh, back left, Dara Ó Cinnéide and Seán Bán Breathnach.
Dara O Cinneide admits Kerry aren't the same without Colm Cooper.

The Kingdom go into Sunday's Munster SFC final without their injured talisman with O Cinneide claiming his absence would be akin to Argentina losing Lionel Messi.

"It's probably doing a disservice to the other players who are in there, but that is the reality of it," the former Kerry All-Ireland winning captain tells the Irish News.

"There is no genuine pace in this Kerry team. And in the absence of that pace, you are missing the 'Gooch' who had the genuine pace upstairs.

"We do everything well, but we don't do anything outstanding anymore.

"We are well prepared and coached, but the spark of genius has gone. The bit of experience that you had with Paul Galvin, Tomas O Se and Eoin Brosnan has also gone. That's a loss," he lamented.
