Review committee propose SFC changes
July 03, 2014
The football review committee set up to look at the structure of the county senior football championship have come up with a number of changes.
The committee made their revelations known at last Monday's county board meeting with the main proposal being reducing the SFC from 20 teams to 16.
Another proposal was to have it as a solely knockout competition that would eliminate the back door route that is currently in place.
There is a fear within the county that game have become less competitive and that a change is needed, hence the formation of the committee.
However, no changes will be made until the committee meet with all the clubs and explain their review, before the matter goes back to the county board where a vote on the matter will take place.
