Kerry manager Tom Howard will not be rushed into a decision on his future.

Howard looked on in disbelief as the Kingdom lost the Christy Ring Cup final to Down and straight away there was talk about his future.

However, the Clare native stressed to the Kerryman that he would take his time in making a decision, although he did hint about staying on.

"I'd like to sit down and think about it," said Howard. "I'd like to sit down with the officers of the board and see if they're still interested in having us as a management team and we'll see what we need.

"We'll sit down and agree whether we have something to work on for next year? We'll keep an open mind on that. I really enjoyed my time, that doesn't mean that either I or the county board will want me to come back next year. Look we'll take a couple of months off, we'll take stock and think about it."
