Willie O'Dwyer knows a thing or two about playing in Croke Park.

On Saturday afternoon, Kilkenny native Willie O'Dwyer will return to familiar territory when he lines out for Kerry against Down in the Christy Ring Cup final at Croke Park.

O'Dwyer is the holder of five All-Ireland senior hurling medals and has graced the hallowed turf of Croke on many an occasion.

So he is best placed to advise any newcomers to GAA headquarters of what they should feel and expect.

Speaking to the Kerryman he said: Croke Park is not something to be phased by, it's something to embrace. It's the best pitch in the country, something to look forward too.

"As I've said any day you go to Croke Park - football in Kerry or whatever is the case, that's the place you want to get too.

"The fact that we're going there Saturday is definitely something that we're looking forward to. Even at training there's a buzz in the dressingroom. People have an extra bounce in their step. It's about getting there, but the main thing is we do ourselves justice when we get there."
