Waterford manager Niall Carew believes that positivity is essential when facing a side like Kerry.

This Sunday, the sides square off against one another in the Munster SFC semi final and Waterford are 20/1 outsiders, while Kerry are 1/100 to win the game.

Despite, the outlandish odds, Carew told the Waterford News & Star that they must go into the match in a positive frame of mind.

"When you are going in playing Kerry you have to believe that it's going to be Waterford's day and that's what we are training for," stated Carew.

"You would have to have your plan in place for that, it will be a big ask and we'll just concentrate on the performance.

"Hopefully we will get something out of that performance then. Realistically, we will be looking at the qualifiers and you would be hoping that the draw would be kind to you to get someone at your level and to build on that." Tweet
