Eoin Brosnan will be available for Kerry's Munster SFC semi-final against Waterford in Killarney on Saturday evening.

The team captain sat out yesterday's facile win over Tipperary with an ankle ligament injury, but will be in the reckoning for next weekend's game according to Kingdom boss Eamonn Fitzmaurice. However, he will once again be without midfielder David Moran, who is recovering from eye surgery.

"Eoin is practically there, very close to be involved," Fitzmaurice explained.

"We could have pushed him into action today if we really needed to, but we didn't want to if we could avoid it. David has had positive news with his eye, a check-up again, last Friday. The news is good, and hopefully he'll be back on the pitch in the next three weeks."

Fitzmaurice admitted that Kerry would have preferred a wider gap between their first two championship matches, especially as there will be a five-week break to the Munster final if they beat Waterford.

"Six days is very close, particularly with the championship intensity but we've known this all along. Waterford requested it, originally, with regard to club fixtures, with football and hurling.

"I'm sure of the ins and outs, but it's agreed, and we'll move on with it. It's great to have another game to look forward to."
