Munster Club SFC final: Crokes make their point

December 03, 2012
DR CROKES 0-19
CASTLEHAVEN 0-12

Dr Crokes put on an exhibition of point-taking as they retained the Munster Club SFC final title when finishing with seven points to spare over Castlehaven in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

Half-forward Brian Looney top-scored for the winners with seven points, six of which came from placed balls, and the Kieran O'Leary captained side held a 0-11 to 0-4 advantage at the break.

The second half was a more evenly contested affair with both sides sending over eight points but the Kerry champions had already put down a large deposit on their fifth provincial success.

The only cause for concern for the winners was the recurrence of a calf injury that resulted of the withdrawal of Eoin Brosnan in the 21st minute.

The Kerry star is not expected to be fit to line out against London's Tir Chonaill Gaels in a fortnight's time.

Castlehaven had to play the last 21 minutes with 14-men after midfielder Sean Dineen received a second yellow card.
