Kerry minor manager Mickey Ned O'Sullivan
Kerry minor football manager Mickey Ned O'Sullivan admits the Kingdom are playing catch-up.

Having been out-muscled by Tipperary in Tralee on Saturday night, Mickey Ned's team face Waterford in the back door of the Munster MFC tonight. And the Kerry boss concedes in a frank interview with The Irish Daily Star:

"We were not strong enough to win any 50-50 balls and that is the reality that we have to address.

"We are only starting this work in progress because it is a long journey.

"We were under no illusions in terms of strength and conditioning that we are three or four years behind counties like Tipperary.

"I think that we will have the football but we will not have the physique and it makes a big difference at underage.

"As you get older, it levels off but at underage it shows up when your opponents are faster and stronger."
