O'Sullivan looks towards Orchard test

Willie O'Sullivan believes the Kerry ladies team proved that they turned a corner at the weekend with their 0-12 to 1-8 victory over Mayo at Banagher, Co Offaly.

The Kingdom boss felt his team showed bottle to come from behind after Cora Staunton's second-half goal looked to have them heading for the exit door, but scores from Louise Ni Mhuricheartaigh and Sarah Houlihan steered the Munster side through.

"It was a very good team display and I was very happy with them," O'Sullivan told The Kerryman.

"I had been involved with Kerry a number of years ago and that kind of a game Kerry teams were tending to lose in the past and the fact we turned it around and beat an experienced team like Mayo is worth anything to us at this stage of the season."

As for the next hurdle, O'Sullivan knows just how tough a test Armagh are set to provide his charges.

"They got to an Ulster final and were beaten by Monaghan and were second in the table in Division Two of the National League and they really seem to have gotten their act together up there following a poor numbers of years for them."

He added: "We'll try and take the positives out if it anyway, we don't have the break some of the other teams have got ahead of this weekend, but you just have to take these things as they come with open draws but we're just happy to be in the next round overall and we'll try and do our best against Armagh."
