Galvin's Kerry future in doubt

Kerry's Paul Galvin
Kerry legend Jack O'Shea has urged Paul Galvin not to hang up his boots with the Kingdom after receiving his third suspension in as many years.
On Monday night Galvin, who is the current 'Footballer of the Year', had an eight-week suspension for his sending-off along with Cork defender Eoin Cadogan in last month's NFL clash against the Rebels upheld by the Central Hearings Committee.
Now O'Shea - the man who helped Galvin through his six-month suspension saga in 2008, which was eventually reduced to three months - has said that this latest ban is something that will "test Paul's mettle" and believes that the thought of walking away now "has to be something on Paul's mind".
"It's clear he's a marked man and will be looking over his shoulder all the time," said O'Shea.
"I felt looking at the TV that night that the decision was harsh. He will be asking himself whether it's all worth it but football means too much for Paul to walk away like that. The Kerry jersey means too much. When he digests this latest blow I don't believe he will.
"He's a strong character, it's another difficult time for him. I wouldn't agree with everything he does on a pitch and I'd say that to him but that's the type of player he is. He plays on the edge. Take that away and you've nothing."
Kerry chairman Jerome Conway has ruled any further appeal against the Finuge man's suspension.
