Brosnan follows Russell out exit door
June 26, 2009

Kerry's Eoin Brosnan
Eoin Brosnan has become the latest All-Ireland winner to withdraw from the Kerry squad in the wake of their Munster SFC semi-final replay defeat to Cork.
The vastly experienced Dr Crokes clubman, who won All-Ireland medals in 2004, '06 and '07, came on as a second half substitute in the Pairc Ui Chaoimh loss, but has decided to opt out ahead of the Kingdom's All-Ireland qualifier on July 11.
His exit follows that of Mike Frank Russell, who quit the squad earlier this week, and will be interpreted as further signs of a significant shake-up by manager Jack O'Connor as he attempts to get Kerry's championship ambitions back on track.
It is believed that the 29-year-old, who only returned to the squad last month after missing the entire National League, felt he was no longer guaranteed enough game-time to continue. He will now concentrate on his club career with Dr Crokes.
