Attention turns to club scene
June 18, 2009
Following last weekend's demoralising defeat to old rivals Cork, the county championship gets underway as Mid Kerry begin the defence of their title.
The action takes place over the course of Friday, Saturday and Sunday as teams finally get the chance to play championship football following a long wait.
The defending champions are not in action till Sunday when they face Laune Rangers and they will look to county captain Darren O'Sullivan to lead by example.
An Ghaeltacht look likely to be without Marc O'Se for their clash against St Kieran's on Friday night, while Gooch Cooper will be hoping to put last weekend's disappointing performance behind when Dr Crokes face West Kerry on Saturday night.
