Heffernan reappointed Kerry hurling boss

November 11, 2008
Former Limerick hurler Pat Heffernan was last night handed a second term as Kerry hurling manager. Heffernan led the Kingdom to a Christy Ring Cup quarter-final appearance this year, only to lose to eventual winners Carlow. Gerald McCarthy was also given another term as minor hurling manager. Sean Geaney, who had been linked with the senior football manager's post following Pat O'Shea's resignation, continues as under 21 manager after leading Kerry to an All-Ireland title last May. John Kennedy has a further year as minor football manager, while the junior football manager will be appointed at the next county board meeting.
