O Se rues late miss

Tomas O Se believes Tyrone goalkeeper Pascal McConnell's brilliant save to deny Declan O'Sullivan in the closing stages cost the Kingdom the three-in-a-row. The stand-in Kerry skipper said: "Any time you lose it hurts. The goal at the start of the second half will be the big talking point. We had a chance to get a goal ourselves but didn't take it, that was the difference. They took their chances, we didn't. "If we had got a goal it would have lifted the whole team, but we didn't. "The opportunity Declan O'Sullivan had, those kind of goals were going in for us all year long, but they didn't go in today. Fair play to Tyrone, they played very well, defended very well and probably deserved it in the end. "The quality of the ball we put in to our boys in the first half wasn't great either. We bombed balls in on top of them. There was no direction, maybe we were kicking too deep. "The couple of good balls that did go in, the 'Gooch' got on them and got a couple of good scores. We did have enough possession today to win, we just didn't take our chances." The wing back, who chipped in with his customary point in the second half, rubbished suggestions that Kerry tired in the final quarter. "I don't think we were a tired team. I think any team that maybe goes one or two points up, a freshness comes into their team. It happens with any team. "Kerry will always come back, we've dusted ourselves down before and we'll do it again. That's what we do. We'll go back to work again. It will be a new year, a fresh year and we'll be hungry again."
