Aidan O'Mahony Kerry
RTÉ pundits Joe Brolly and Colm O'Rourke lashed out at Kerry centre-back Aidan O'Mahony on Sunday for the defender's behavioural conduct throughout his side's All-Ireland semi-final draw with Cork.
The Kingdom defender fell to the ground dramatically after receiving a light slap across the face from Donnacha O'Connor in the second-half of Sunday's thrilling clash, which led to the Cork attacker's sending-off.
The contact seemed to be minimal and O'Mahony's reaction afterwards enraged both of the Sunday Game pundits.
"It's a disgrace," fumed former Derry legend Brolly.
"The authorities ought to look at this. That's the third or fourth time this year where a player has laid down and held his face.
"He got a tiny flick across the face. How embarrassing is that?
"I'm not excusing that (the slap) but what I'm saying is, how disgraceful is that behaviour? It shows a lack of manliness."
Former All-Ireland winner O'Rourke was also incensed by O'Mahony's antics, citing his behaviour as very untypical of a Kerry footballer.
"The conduct of Aidan O'Mahony was embarrassing.
"He seems to think that because he's a big strong player that he has the right to do whatever he likes. And he's a brilliant player, he doesn't need to do that sort of thing.
"It's not the Kerry way. You rarely see that macho in-your-face stuff from any Kerry player.
"They tend to go on about their business fairly quietly."
