Fleming wary of Ulster threat

The Kilcummin players celebrate with the Munster club IFC trophy at Mallow

Kilcummin selector Kieran Fleming believes that Antrim side Naomh Eanna will provide a serious threat to their chances of lifting the All-Ireland club IFC title.

The sides meet in Croke Park on Saturday afternoon and the Kerry and Munster champions are slight favourites to lift the title.

However, Fleming who is also a member of the squad, told the Kerryman that they expect a very tight game tomorrow.

“Any Northern opposition are going to be tough,” said Fleming. “You saw last year when An Ghaeltacht went up against Northern opposition in the semi-final they were turned over. Finuge and Spa over the years also lost to Northern opposition, so it is going to be tough.

Fleming added that being favourites was out of their control and it is something they are not even thinking about.

“There’s no control over that. That’s just part of being Kerry, the tradition that’s in Kerry, you are going to have that, you are going to be expected to go places because you are coming out of Kerry. So, all we can do is try and keep the players as grounded as possible and not let that get to them.”
