Jack O'Connor claims he isn't planning a third coming as Kerry senior football manager.

The former Kingdom boss has been linked with the vacant hotseat since Eamonn Fitzmaurice stepped down last month following Kerry's failure to qualify for the All-Ireland semi-finals and is the bookies' second favourite for the post behind Sunday's All-Ireland MFC-winning boss Peter Keane.

During two previous terms at the helm, O'Connor guided Kerry to Sam Maguire Cup successes in 2004, 2006 and 2009. Since then, the Dromid Pearses clubman has managed his county to further All-Irelands at minor and U21 levels. His U20 side were beaten at the semi-final stage by Kildare this year and, according to The Irish Daily Star, he told local radio that he isn't considering a senior return:

"I had two goes at it now and I think that might be enough for me. It's a huge commitment and people don't realise it. Basically, you wouldn't want to be working and you would want an awful lot of energy.

"I'm enjoying what I'm doing with the U20s at the moment. I'm getting a great kick out of being involved with the U20s. We were a bit disappointed this year. We were close. That's where my future lies, to be honest with you."
