David Clifford added a Munster SFC souvenir to his burgeoning medal collection at Pairc Ui Chaoimh this evening and has now set his sights on the Super 8s.

The 19-year-old kicked two points as the Kingdom made it six provincial titles in-a-row at Cork's expense.

"We did prepare very well for it and we were here to put in a performance. Thank God we did," he remarked to RTE shortly after the final whistle.

The Fossa clubman pointed out that the concession of two early goals is something that won't have pleased manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice.

"Eamonn probably won't be too happy with them, it leaves us with something to brush up on. We reacted well to the goals and we pushed on from there."

Clifford and his team-mates now turn their attention to the Super 8s…

"The Super 8s is going to be another tough test, we're going to have to be ready for it but it's great to be getting games against the toughest opposition.

"So, yeah, looking forward to that."

Clifford's full-forward line colleague Paul Geaney - who finished with 2-5 to his name - echoed those sentiments.

"It was a target obviously at the start of the year to try and get to the Super 8s," the Dingle clubman stated after picking up the 'man-of-the-match' accolade. "That's happened now so the work begins for that."

Geaney highlighted the Kingdom's appetite for hard graft as a key ingredient in their winning formula.

"The main thing from our point of view was our work-rate was through the roof. Lots of mistakes, lots of things to work on but a good day out."
