Kerry captain Fionn Fitzgerald admits that there is a new dynamic to the side as they start to gel together.

The Kingdom eased their relegation fears with a win over Kildare last weekend, which ensures their status in NFL 1 for yet another year.

Fitzgerald feels that they are heading in the right direction as the likes of David Clifford and Sean O'Shea settle into the side with relative ease. However, the Dr Crokes' defender added that there will be ups and downs before they are the finished article.

"The dynamic of the team is new. We had a great start to the league and maybe we hit a bit of a lull for a couple of games," Fitzgerald told the Kerryman. "That happens when you've got new players, some of the older players coming back and I think its starting to come together a little bit better now, but it's going to take time.

"We haven't had an opportunity yet to all train together or anything like that, but slowly but surely we're getting to know each other a bit better and that kind of chemistry is starting to come together."
