CAC to hear handball appeal

The GAA's Central Appeals Committee will meet tonight to hear an appeal from the Ulster Handball Council regarding the venue for this year's DALKIA Minor and Senior Singles Finals.
An eleventh hour decision was made last Friday to postpone the finals in a bid to find a resolution to the venue debate. "We hope the appeal is dealt with promptly so we can get back to the real business of preparing for one of the most exciting finals of recent years," said IHC Promotions Administrator Niamh Egan.
The Irish Handball Council expects to announce the new date for the finals at their Senior Doubles final at Kingscourt tomorrow afternoon. Cavan's Paul Brady and Michael Finnegan will bid for their third title in a row when the take on Mayo's Dessie Keegan and Joe McCann. Antrim's Fiona Shannon and Sibéal McKenna will also contest the Ladies Senior Doubles final against Kildare's Anna Spence and Eimear Ní Fhallúin, while Meath's Gary McConnell faces Stephen Cooney in the Minor Singles decider. Action gets underway at 3pm in Kingscourt.
