Tyrone taste glory again on the All-Ireland Handball Stage

Tyrone's involvement in 7 All-Ireland adult handball championship final in this seven day period got off to a good start on Sunday when the county won 2 >from their first 3 final appearances. One of the county's most successful players, Stephen Clarke, secured the All-Ireland Masters Singles crown with a 21-7, 21-4 win over Galway's Tom King while Padraig McGlinchey and Darragh Daly were highly impressive winners over Clare in the All-Ireland Under 21 doubles final. Shane O'Neill and Gary McCrory just missed out on a weekend clean sweep when they fell by 21-15 in the tie-break to Cork in the All-Ireland Intermediate doubles final. This weekend will see both Stephen Clarke and Padraig McGlinchey chasing All-Ireland doubles. Clarke bids to add the doubles crown to his singles title when he teams up with Barney Corcoran and McGlinchey takes on Mayo's Ciaran Burke in the Under 21 Singles All-Ireland decider. Elsewhere, Ruairi Kelly is a warm favourite in the All-Ireland Junior Singles final against Cork and Caolan Daly and Conor Grugan team up in the All-Ireland Minor doubles final against Limerick. The biggest game of the handballing season in Tyrone goes ahead on Saturday at 5pm in Loughmacrory with Loughmacrory's Ciaran Curran and Brackey's Shane O'Neill squaring up in the O'Neills Tyrone Senior Singles Championship decider. Brian Donaghy and John McCullagh will then meet in the Senior B Singles final at 6pm.
