Handball finals postponed
April 12, 2008
The All-Ireland handball finals which were fixed for today (Saturday) have been postponed after an appeal by the Ulster Council.
The DALKIA All-Ireland finals were due to take place at O'Loughlin Gaels HQ in Kilkenny but they were postponed after Ulster's appeal against the choice of venue.
It is understood Ulster wanted the finals to be played in Kingscourt and not Kilkenny:
"The Irish Handball Council very much regrets the inconvenience to players, officials and supporters as a result in this postponement," a statement from the Handball Council read.
"When a decision is reached on the matter, the Council will refund monies already paid for tickets or will issue tickets for a re-fixture, as patrons so desire.
"All remaining All-Ireland semi-finals will go ahead as scheduled on Sunday."
