GAA Handball Show series returns on TG4

Handball and sport enthusiasts can see all the highlights of 2011 on the new GAA Handball Show series, with eight episodes scheduled on TG4 every Monday night in January from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. The series starts on Monday 2nd January 2012 at 8.30pm.
Chris Curran (CEO, GAA Handball Ireland) said: "2012 will be one of the most historic years ever for handball with a record 33 countries to compete in the World Championships in Ireland. The GAA Handball Show will provide a terrific insight into the growth of handball both in Ireland and worldwide."
Show 1: Monday 2nd January 2012 at 8.30pm:
The GAA Handball National Allstar Awards from Croke Park featuring the Club of the year in focus, Mount Talbot (Roscommon), as well as other key highlights and profiles from the year in GAA Handball. Also includes interview with Uachtarán CLG, Christy Cooney, at the launch of an exciting new era for the sport in Ireland.
Show 2: Monday 2nd January 2012 at 9.00pm:
The GAA Handball One Wall Nationals from Breaffy House Sports Arena in Castlebar as the International Challenge takes centre stage with Puerto Rico, USA, England and Italy mixing it Ireland's best. Also nuclides a special feature on handball on Inis Mór as well as focus on a number of new Schools who have taken up the National One Wall Challenge.
Show 3: Monday 9th January 2012 at 8.30pm:
Further highlights from The GAA Handball One Wall Nationals from Breaffy House Sports Arena in Castlebar with the Mens and Ladies Open title deciders taking centre stage plus a host of action and features from the record-breaking event. The focus continues on many more Schools who have taken up the National One Wall Challenge.
Show 4: Monday 9th January 2012 at 9.00pm:
The GAA Handball 60x30 Championships are ever increasing in profile and a capacity crowd enjoy one of the best Mens Open Singles Finals in years as Westmeath's Robbie McCarthy and Dublin's Eoin Kennedy go head to head. Plus a special feature on Pat Kirby and his club Tuamgraney, celebrating 100 years of handball.
Show 5: Monday 16th January 2012 at 8.30pm:
The 60x30 championships move to Williamstown for a Wexford v Mayo Open doubles showdown while the Ladies Open champions are also decided. Feile na nGael is the exciting event in focus while the growth of the handball in schools is also highlighted. Plus a number of behind the scenes features including the Eamonn Law Tournament in Mullinavat.
Show 6: Monday 16th January 2012 at 9.00pm:
The Irish Nationals in both 60x30 and 40x20 attract huge interest with the Irish teams decided for the year. Both events attract record crowds as the sports growth continues while the build up to the Worlds in 2012 in Ireland begins with some handball stars in profile. A host of clubs and players in focus too from Clogh, Coolgreaney, St. Mary's and St. Josephs in Wexford.
Show 7: Monday 23rd January 2012 at 8.30pm:
Paul Brady and Charly Shanks clash again the All Ireland senior 40x20 championship decider while the ladies and minors also go in search of national glory. The Intervarsities championships also attract major interest while Broadford in Limerick and Brackey in Tyrone exhibit their ever-growing status in the sport.
Show 8: Monday 23rd January 2012 at 9.00pm:
The conclusion to the All Ireland 40x20 Senior championships with in-depth focus on World Senior Champion, Paul Brady, with the build-up now well underway to the World Championships in Ireland in October 2012. A special look at how the new purpose built Worlds arena will be made up and look while GAA Handball again go behind the scenes with some special players and stars in focus.
