Tickets for the All-Ireland hurling finals go on sale next week and the demand in Galway is expected to be huge.

With both their senior and minor teams involved, hurling fever has gripped the county like never before. However, Galway officials fear there may not be enough tickets to satisfy demand.

"The demand for tickets will be massive," Galway hurling committee PRO and former manager Jarlath Cloonan predicted in the Connacht Tribune.

"You saw yourself last Sunday (against Tipperary) there was huge support, absolutely huge support from Galway. They expected maybe a crowd of 40,000 and they got 58,000, and a huge amount of that support travelled from Galway."

Meanwhile, fast food chain Supermacs is calling on Galway people to turn their homes and streets maroon and white ahead of hurling's big day.

The Galway GAA sponsor is offering two stand tickets to the owners of the house or property to make the biggest effort with maroon and white flags, bunting, scarves and banners.
