Anthony Cunningham told Brian Cody after the Leinster final that they'd met again in the All-Ireland final and his words came true after the Tribesmen scored a dramatic victory over Tipperary this afternoon.

"These guys fought like tigers and deserved it there at the finish," the exhausted but delighted Galway manager told RTE.

"A fantastic game; a game that had everything. We would have taken a draw at the finish. I suppose the winner takes everything. We say hard luck to Eamon (O'Shea) and his team. There are fine lines in this game.

"We're really looking forward to the final now."

The St. Thomas' clubman lauded substitute Shane Moloney after his injury-time point decided a classic encounter.

"We got the break there at the finish. Shane came on and missed one, but recovered very well. It's a great sign of a young chap coming through."

The All-Ireland final on September 6 provides the Westerners with an opportunity to not only avenge their Leinster final defeat but also their 2012 All-Ireland final loss (after a replay) to Kilkenny.

"We always believe in this team and this set of young lads coming through," Cunningham continued.

"The might of Kilkenny are there, they're a fantastic team, fantastic players. We've improved, but the big question is to get ready in the next three weeks."
