Galway manager Kevin Walsh is confident that his side are making progress.

Despite losing out to Mayo in the Connacht SFC semi-final last weekend, the former All-Ireland winner is adamant that his charges are heading in the right direction.

Speaking to the Connacht Tribune, Walsh was looking at the positives from the game and to be fair, there were a few to take from the defeat.

"I suppose, I'd look at it from the point of view of the glass being half full. Of course, we're very disappointed not to win, but I thought that we weren't out of the game at any stage," said Walsh.

He added: "We'll review everything during the week and continue the process of trying to improve for every game. There are positives to take from this game but we just didn't put Mayo on the backfoot often enough during the course of the match."
