Cunningham looks ahead

Galway manager Anthony Cunningham is eager for his side to show the same character on Sunday as they did in their opening day win over Clare.

The Tribesmen recorded a one point win over the Banner last weekend, thanks to a converted injury time free by Jason Flynn.

It was the perfect start for the Connacht side, but Cunningham is now focused on their next game against Tipperary in Thurles.

Speaking to the Connacht Champion, he hinted that his charges would be looking for revenge following last year's qualifier defeat to the Premier County.

"I think the character was there and a sharpness will come," said Cunningham of last Sunday. "Maybe the pitch was at times heavy enough, as they are this time of the year, so you'd always try to improve your touch.

"To go down to Thurles, it's a venue where we want to put things right to be honest. It's all to play for again next weekend. There are only four matches left in the league and we have to win at least three of them to be sure of a play-off round."
