Leitrim have pulled off a coup by securing the services of former Galway All-Ireland winner Michael Coleman as the new trainer of the county's senior hurling team.

The Abbeyknockmoy clubman won two All-Ireland SHC medals and three All-Stars during his illustrious playing career.

The Leitrim Observer describes his addition as a 'surprise but very welcome development' for the county hurlers who are attempting to build on progress made on the club sceneover the last five to 10 years.

The Connacht county will compete in Division 3B and the Lory Meagher Cup in 2015.
