Killanin (Galway) 0-11

Not even a late cameo appearance by new Galway manager Kevin Walsh could save Killanin from defeat to St. Croan's in today's Connacht club IFC final at Tuam Stadium.

The 45-year-old 1998 and 2001 All-Ireland winning midfielder was sprung from the bench with five minutes remaining (he was also introduced in the county final), but by then the game had slipped away from the Galway champions who finished with 14 players after Niall Walsh was dismissed on a late straight red card.

A great long-range point from Michael Holland ensured St. Croan's of parity, 0-6 each, at half-time, but the Roscommon side would have been ahead had they not had a penalty saved.

Enda Kelly edged Killanin back in front after the restart, but goals by Shane Smith and Aidan Brogan in quick succession propelled St. Croan's into a 2-8 to 0-8 lead and they weren't to be caught after that.
