Monaghan admits to frustration

October 31, 2014

Portumna manager Mike Monaghan admits that it is frustrating not knowing when the county SHC will resume.

The county championship is on hold at the moment as Turloughmore are appealing their expulsion from the competition after they were alleged to have fielded an illegible player.

The club are continuing to pursue the matter despite it being thrown out by the county CCC and thus so the championship is on hold.

Portumna are already through to the county final, while Gort are in the semi-final and Ardrahan in the quarterfinal and Monaghan admitted to the Connacht Tribune that the whole affair was being dragged out too long.

"The frustrating thing is not knowing when it is going to be. If somebody came along and said 'look it the county final is going to be deferred, it is going to take four weeks to sort this out, the county final is fixed for November 30th', then you at least had something to work onwards."
