Galway SHC in disarray

October 14, 2014

Beagh are through to the semi final.

The 2015 Galway SHC is up in the air after Turloughmore's removal from the competition was quashed.

Galway's Disputes Resolution Authority has overturned the county CCC's decision to throw the club out of the championship and it now appears highly likely that Turloughmore could be reinstated.

Turloughmore overcame Beagh in their group decider on September 14th but the losers successfully lodged an objection over the involvement of former All-Ireland winning minor Matthew Keating - who represented Long Island Gaels in the United States during the summer - on the winning Turloughmore team that day.

Despite having originally been booted out, Turloughmore have continued to train and are optimistic that they will now get to replay that vital final group game against Beagh, with the winners then going on to face Ardrahan at the quarter-final stage.

Ardrahan and Beagh were scheduled to play a quarter-final last Sunday but the match was postponed due to Turloughmore's appeal.

Gort await the winners at the semi-final stage, with Portumna in turn awaiting the winners of the semi-final in the decider.
