Turloughmore thrown out of Galway SHC

October 03, 2014

Beagh are through to the semi final.

Turloughmore were thrown out of the Galway SHC last night for fielding an ineligible player in their group match against Beagh on September 14.

The sensational development came after a meeting of the Galway CCC last night found that the club had fielded a player who had apparently not received clearance to play after returning from the US where he had played hurling for the summer.

The result has been awarded to Beagh, meaning they finish second in the group and will now play Ardrahan in the Galway SHC quarter-final on Sunday week. Tomorrow's replay between Turloughmore and Ardrahan and the draw game has been declared null and void.

The date of the county final is expected to be deferred by a week.
