Neighbours Moycullen and Killanin have progressed to the 2014 Galway IFC final.

Killanin saw off a brave Monivea-Abbey fightback to prevail by 3-8 to 2-9 in an exciting semi-final at Tuam Stadium on Sunday.

And, in the first installment of that double-header in Tuam, Moycullen kept alive their hopes of an instant return to senior ranks when defeating Athenry by 1-11 to 1-7.

Moycullen, who are managed by Michael Donnellan, were actually beaten by Athenry in their competition opener but have bounced back with wins over Williamstown, Dunmore McHales and Headfort to book their place in what promises to be an excellent derby decider.
