Tipperary flattered to deceive against Limerick in the Munster SHC semi-final and manager Eamon O'Shea insists his players are eager to make amends against Galway in the All-Ireland SHC qualifier on Saturday evening.

"This is the game between two serious contenders," the Premier boss remarked to the Irish Independent.

"We've been waiting five weeks to show that we're better than some of our performance against Limerick.

"Now, some of our performance wasn't good, other parts of it were ok.

"But we're looking forward to having a real go on Saturday night and I'm looking forward to the players doing themselves justice."

O'Shea called on Tipperary supporters to turn up in big numbers to show their support for the Semple Stadium clash.

"I think it's a two-way street in terms of support.

"I think the team has got to give the public something to really latch on to and that's what we'll be looking to do, in terms of the game we want to play.

"There's really strong, genuine interest and concern about hurling in Tipperary. And I'd love to see all of those people in Thurles on Saturday.

"It's really up to the team and ourselves to light that fuse."
