SFC gets underway

Following Galway's disastrous defeat to Mayo last Sunday, the attention switches to the club scene this weekend and the start of the Galway SFC.
Twenty teams will battle it out for the Frank Fox Cup, which is currently in Salthill/Knocknacarra's possession. The action begins on Saturday with two double-headers in Tuam Stadium and Pearse Stadium. In Tuam, St. James' face Caltra and Milltown take on Caherlistrane. Pearse Stadium will host the meeting of champions Salthill-Knocknacarra and Carna-Cashel, and Corofin and Micheal Breathnach.
On Sunday, Mountbellow-Moylough and Leitir Mor face off in Pearse Stadium. There is a double-header in Corofin which sees Killererin taking on St. Michael's, and Moycullen squaring up to Kilconly. An Cheathru Rua take on Bearna in Inverin, while Tuam Stadium hosts its second double-header of the weekend which features Cortoon Shamrocks v Tuam Stars and Annaghdown v Kilkerrin-Clonberne.
