Galway's Fergal Moore injured. INPHO
Galway captain Fergal Moore has declared himself '100 per cent' fit following the concussion which brought his participation in the HL Division 1 semi-final against Kilkenny to an end.
Moore was knocked unconscious after an accidental collision with Walter Walsh at Thurles last month.
The game was halted for 20 minutes as Moore was treated on the pitch and then taken to hospital in Clonmel by ambulance.
"I am 100 per cent," Moore revealed to the Irish Daily Star at the launch of the Leinster SHC. "I had to take a couple of weeks off. It's mandatory after concussion.
"I went to give him a shoulder and turned funny and hit him wrong and that's just the way it was.
"I don't remember it at all. I didn't see it (the game) after and didn't watch it back. It's all about championship now.
"He is a big unit, but if he was 2'2" I probably would have knocked myself out anyway with the way that I hit him.
"I think it was a clash of heads more than anything but he is certainly a big unit."
Moore's injury compounded Galway's woes as Kilkenny ran out comfortable winners.
"It was tame enough in the finish. We lost that in the first-half after a very good start and couldn't claw it back so a somewhat flat performance but all credit to Kilkenny.
"They went on and won it and that is why they are All-Ireland champions."
