Ballygar Hurling Club Notes
May 07, 2013
UNDER 10 : Result - BALLYGAR 6-08 : 0-03 Portumna
- Well done to all involved in this well deserved victory over a gallant Portumna side. The Ballygar lads produced some excellent passages of play which resulted in some well taken scores by a very accurate forward line in which all attackers excelled. A very strong defensive unit and energetic midfielders laid the foundation on whic...h the forward line built on. Performances like this do not just happen overnight & it's the result of all the hard work and efforts that each of the players & management team have put in on the training pitch.
Once again we would like to thank all the Parents & Supporters who came along to cheer on the team. We would also like to thank the Portumna club for coming to Ballygar, and we look forward to meeting them again and be part of another very enjoyable game
.UNDER 12 - Result :
BALLYGAR 2-06 : 1-04 Tynagh Abbey-Duniry. (Brian Kelly tournament played in Duniry this eve.)

UNDER 14 'A' Championship : BALLYGAR 2-03 : 1-05 Castlegar.
- Ballygar came away from Castlegar yesterday evening with a well deserved victory aginst the home side in this group game. It maybe the side's 1st points on the boards in this group, but it was certainly a victory well worth waiting for. The Ballygar side showed great determination and very high skill levels throughout the game & at a...ll times made it very difficult for the formidable home side. It's worth reminding that this is the Castlegar side that reached the Feile final just a few weeks back, and had defeated the Ballygar side on their way. So therefore it is testimony to our lads 'will to win' that they could turn a 9 point defeat from a few weeks back into a 1 point victory on this occasion.
We would like to thank all the Parents & Supporters who came along yesterday eve. - once again we are very grateful to you all. We would also like to thank Castlegar for the game and wish them the best of luck in the remainder of the championship - they will have a big say as to the destination of this year's championship.
