There were good wins last week for our U10, U14 and U16 hurlers, with our U16 footballers unlucky to go down by 4 points (4-10 to 4-6) in a high-scoring game in the U16 League. The Junior C footballers also had a first League outing of the year away to Ballinasloe, going down 3-13 to 1-10.
The U10 hurlers made it four wins from four, when they defeated Athleague (5-10 to 0-0) in Athleague. Cian Murphy was the top scorer, with 2-8. The next U10 and U8 game is tomorrow (Friday 10th) at 6.30pm v Ahascragh-Fohenagh, in Ahascragh. The U14s had a good Championship win also, when they pipped Ballinderreen by one point (4-5 to 5-1) in Ballinderreen.
The U16 hurlers were in Championship action last Thursday evening, coming from three points down at half-time to defeat a good Tommie Larkins side, 1-11 to 0-8. This was their third win from three Championship games. Brian Sweeney again was to the fore, hitting the second-half goal to seal the win. Others who impressed for Pearses were Goalkeeper Matthew Walsh, Ronan O'Neill, Ronan Carr and Lee Murphy.
